Public Library Heilbronn – Dia takes first place for a modern and sustainable design concept

Located in the K3, a shopping and cultural center, a holistic redesign is going to be implemented in order to provide flexibly used areas for working, concentration, and interaction. The concept has impressed the jury with creative and innovative solutions as well as with a materiality and coloring that ranges from high- contrasts, brightness to a great vividness – adapted to the different requirements. In addition to a pure communication of information, the library increasingly takes over social and communicative tasks that are reflected in an experience-oriented design. Comfortable and creative areas provide a high quality of stay. In the course of a strong competition, the awarded layout succeeded in convincing the panel of flexibility, functionality, and orientation. With its implementation, the library will be strengthened in its important function as a cultural and educational institution.
