Red Dot Award – A short trip to winning bar Eduard’s

Whether it's midday or late at night, you will always find Eduard's bar full of patrons enjoying the bar’s laid-back urban vibe. It’s a place where style, excellent service, and a certain casualness come together to make the bar a success. Now the interior concept has also received the Red Dot Design Award—check! For this occasion, we will treat ourselves to a refreshing cocktail and invite you to experience the city's hot spot with us.

Reflections in copper and cheerful voices resonate to the world outside. Within a single step, you are standing directly in front of the bar counter, with a cocktail in your hand and a smile on your face. No matter what, you’re in luck: either you will be greeted personally by Timo, the bar manager, or by one of his friendly staff.

The bar is compact, but there’s room for everyone—and the service is always on its A Game. On weekends, get ready to be spoiled by twelve service personnel in one shift! Timo’s explanation for the bar’s success is clear: »The location is ingenious: seeing and being seen. And the design creates this great mixture between coziness and modernity.« We agree. The distinctive design exudes pure contemporary euphoria, while at the same time—not only in the naming—draws on the historical. For example, the bar counter is prominent and is best situated at the center of the room, because THAT sacred design choice must be left to traditional bar culture.

The location is first-class: it connects the new quarter with the market square and offers a magnificent view of city life. ©DITTEL ARCHITEKTEN GMBH

Eduard’s Bar loves tradition as much as innovation, and it plays with that polarity. Be it the room, which has more height than width or the oversized round bulbs that cheekily hang down into the room from the geometric ceiling structure. Or be it the fact that the classic function of the bar counter—a barrier between bartender and guest—is dissolved by a table on the side, or the multi-level corner lounge, which uses the extravagant floor plan to its advantage. If you choose this seat, you will not only sit on the podium for those looking in, but also have the best view of the vibrant city.

Enjoy the raw, noble effects of copper and intense green and spend your evening at an establishment that is as versatile as the city it’s in. Versatility is also what Timo loves most about his job, a testament expressed through the entire design concept of the bar, which is open during both the day and evening; and of course through contact with you, the guests. Well then, cheers!

Contact with the guests is what Timo finds most fun about his job: »It’s so versatile«. ©DITTEL ARCHITEKTEN GMBH
