The basic idea of the renovation was to translate traditional tavern and restaurant elements into a modern context and to simultaneously play with charming and stylish gastronomy concepts. A symbiosis of tradition and modernity come together through the complementary combination of industrial elements with high-quality materials consisting of both light and dark wood in cheerful, warm shades.
The formerly small-scale and private cellar now opens up to Hirschstrasse and the market square. The entrance area via the gallery provides a view of the open space and the sociable happenings in the Ratskeller. The barrier-free staircase leads guests to the open and inviting lounge area of the restaurant. High-quality armchairs with nut-brown leather upholstery and detailed golden walls introduce the warm color range of the restaurant and direct the guests’ eyes to the centerpiece of the room, the house bar. The bar itself has a raw industrial design and sets with modern accents in a traditional ambience. Adjacent to the bar, counter-height tables and chairs in light, natural wood look provide further seating options.
