Inspired by ORGATEC 2018 – our highlights for New Work 2019

Future Office or how will we work in the future? This question was closely examined at Orgatec 2018. We participated and were able to define and reflect five trends.

Work style: activity based working

Task and project-oriented work requires versatile zones for individual working styles. All conceivable zones and furniture elements are provided across a spectrum ranging from teamwork to full concentration (think pods) – all of them of course flexible, modular and convertible.

Design: user centered

Each workstation looks different since each person can arrange things according to their own needs – the height adjustment of furniture is a classic example. We fully support the high level of presence and innovation when it comes to acoustics and lighting, two key factors for a pleasant workplace.

Atmosphere: well-being

Feel as comfortable as in your own living room or enjoy the healing effects of nature – modern working worlds imitate environments that radiate well-being. Alongside incredibly comfortable sofas and armchairs we discover natural materials, special fabrics and ferns. Digital relaxation rooms that beam employees into a completely different world are particularly sophisticated. What’s the point of all this? We have to learn how to take a break. Those who succeed in doing so work much more effectively.

Furniture: simple, flexible, functional and aesthetic

Furniture takes on a whole new meaning in this collection of trends dedicated to employee well-being. Successful designers of the future find a creative balance between simplicity, flexibility, functionality and aesthetics!

Colors: pastel meets color explosion

Pastel is ubiquitous and always will be, which is hardly surprising as pastel shades are friendly, loving and calming. On the other side of the coin are color explosions that radiate pure energy and stimulate the mind. Both approaches are justified – what matters is using them the right way!

Conclusion: The new attention being paid to working environments and development is of course great fun for us architects and interior designers, giving us the chance to design spaces that encourage creativity, create feel-good zones such as in hotels and use wonderful natural materials. Not forgetting the harmony between design and (corporate) culture.
