After Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Ludwigsburg, Dittel Assoziierte is also responsible for the Eduard’s bar in Munich, thus expanding the successful concept of the characterful trendy bar for the fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger with another hotspot in a top location.
In the heart of the old town, in the immediate vicinity of the Viktualienmarkt, the exclusive location welcomes its guests as part of the new Breuninger flagship store. Eduard’s can be accessed as an independent restaurant via Sendlinger Straße and directly via the department store, meaning that the daytime and cocktail bar both contributes to the special shopping experience and invites guests to linger outside of store opening hours.

Exclusive atmosphere
The design concept of Eduard’s Bar in Stuttgart celebrated great success back in 2018 and was awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. Dittel Assoziierte made another design statement with its second location at Breuningerhaus Düsseldorf. Here, Eduard’s finds a very special architectural setting to welcome guests in the Kö-Bogen, the futuristic building designed by star architect Daniel Liebeskind. In the Breuninger department store in Ludwigsburg, whose 11,000 square meter redesign was holistically implemented by Dittel Assoziierte 2021, Eduard’s is perfectly integrated into the appearance of the sales area and creates an exclusive atmosphere.
Outdoor area
Thanks to the interior design, Munich’s Eduard’s offers the right seating for all preferences at any time of day. Typical of the Eduard’s design concept, the 100 square meter interior of the restaurant is divided into a light area at the front and a darker area at the back.
During the day, people mainly meet in the brightly designed dining room under the arcades. The seating along the glass façade, which opens onto the outdoor terrace, is particularly popular. Walk-in customers also quickly spot the inviting character of the location through the window front. From here, the hustle and bustle of Munich’s city center can be observed in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying selected snacks and a cool drink or coffee. When the weather is fine, the outdoor area offers a further 30 seats in the middle of the Sendlingerstrasse promenade.
Golden glow
In the evening, the bar takes center stage, reflecting the unmistakable character and value of the brand image. The warm copper tones, which are the central design element of the locations in Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Ludwigsburg, are replaced by shimmering gold brass accents at the exclusive Breuninger location in Munich. The solid counter body in a full brass look, together with the pendant lights and the ceiling structure of angular rods and round bulbs, shines in a golden glow.
Timeless feel-good atmosphere
The emotional lighting design and the interplay of light and shadow reflected in the glass façade immediately immerse guests in a sophisticated bar atmosphere as they enter. A heavy, floor-to-ceiling textile curtain separates the entrance and the view of the sales area after the Breuninger department store closes. The illuminated wall shelf behind the counter picks up on the design of the ceiling structure and perfectly showcases the spirits. Fancy a drink? Welcome to Eduard’s!

Warm and cool color contrast
Munich is considered a green cosmopolitan city with a heart. Based on this, Eduard’s is accentuated by muted moss and blue tones in the color scheme and textiles. The bar board and table tops made of high-quality acacia wood and the cognac-colored seating with a vintage look form a warm contrast to the plain walls and benches in exposed concrete, the floor-to-ceiling textile wall covering in shades of blue and the cool cast floor. The geometric figurative mark of the logo, which is supported by a typography with a slender, self-confident form, refers to the structure of the ceiling installation and completes the corporate design down to the last detail.
