We reimagine cultural and
educational buildings in a way that is geared towards
needs and endows a clear sense of identity.

Places where people come together

Cultural and educational buildings can be said to represent their respective cities or countries at a regional, national or international level. With this great responsibility in mind, we develop prestigious and authentic architectural concepts, user-centric interior designs and intuitive guiding systems to create places with a strong sense of identity that invite people to participate in dialogue and intercultural discourse.

We respond to the challenge of balancing creative freedom and rigid specifications by developing unique architecture that lives and breathes.

Intuitive access and routing

We develop spaces in which people can find their way effortlessly. With finely honed access concepts and transparent guiding systems, we create transitions that offer maximum user orientation and safety – but without compromising on aesthetics. At the same time, we separate public from private areas and communication zones from quiet oases of retreat.

Sustainable thinking

The most sustainable building is always the one with a long useful life. To this end, we develop barrier-free and highly adaptable spaces that appeal greatly to users. The more flexibly a space can be used, the more viable it is for the future. After all, user needs change over the course of time. Our resource-friendly planning opts for materials with a long life.

Needs-oriented planning

Our planning is geared towards those people who will use the spaces later on – here, we focus on needs and suitability for different generations and cultures. We design places where people can come together, places that encourage human interaction and real participation. If requested to do so, we are also happy to seek out direct input from future users with regard to their needs and expectations and to use this as a basis for our planning.

Historical identity meets modern design

With individual modernisation solutions, we add to the cityscape and create a defining identity. Our architecture combines tradition and future. With a delicate symbiosis of historical structures and innovative, sustainable design, we lend public buildings a contemporary character with strong regional roots.

Creating a cultural experience

Our concepts make spaces into vibrant ‘third places’, where people can spend quality time with others when they are not at home or work. These spaces are designed for culture, education and community – they invite people to linger awhile and engage in lively discussion and social interaction.

Our holistic approach for public buildings

From the first feasibility study to the final completion, we provide ongoing advice and support to public-sector clients when planning and implementing educational and cultural buildings. Our interdisciplinary team of architects and interior architects combines creative design with the strict requirements associated with public buildings, such as accessibility, fire protection and listed status. As highly experienced general planners and project managers, we coordinate all interfaces, are well versed in the complex approval processes and ensure that the final product is on time, on budget and of the highest quality. This makes it possible to create inspiring places of learning, human interaction and cultural exchange that are not only functional and safe but are also inviting and have a strong sense of identity.

Cultural spaces bring people together and offer them a vibrant environment where they can talk and share ideas.
