DIA in progress – insight into our ongoing projects

2020 definitely has been an exceptional year. Even though public life almost completely shut down, there was no time out in our office. Exciting approaches and innovative concepts have been developed and planned by our team.

Several projects will finally be completed by the end of the year, a lot of projects in the range of work environment, hotel industry and catering trade as well as in the public sector are in the pipeline. In Forchheim (Franconia, Bavaria), everything revolves around the topic “New Work” – on behalf of the company SIEMENS HEALTHINEERS, DIA implements an innovative office concept. In Stuttgart, the extensive renovation of the Ratskeller currently is in its final throes – a gastronomic enrichment for the market place in Stuttgart upcoming year. We’d like to share with you a few impressions and exciting insights and we’re already looking forward to the implementations in 2021.

Siemens Healthineers

With a full size of 57,000 m², the building is part of a highly modern office complex in which research and development are located as well as the production of high-end X-ray tubes and the related high-voltage generators. On an area of 8,000 m², a hybrid workplace will be created by connecting the modern development- and logistics center with its production by means of innovative space solutions. A healthy work culture and new ways of exchange is the focus of the realization and is going to be reflected spatially in terms of the corporate identity.

Ratskeller Stuttgart

In the city center,  it is situated with its characteristic clock tower – the citiy hall of Stuttgart. Since 2016, the venerable restaurant in the basement  is  being renovated and now come to an end. Until the scheduled reopening in the beginning of 2021, we work at full speed on the implementation of  the contemporary design concept and we are looking forward to visiting the “new” Ratskeller for the first time, managed by the brewery “Dinkelacker – Schwabenbräu”.

Maritime Experience World Papenburg – DIA wins european competition for innovative exhibition design

With the exhibition concept for the Maritime Experience World Papenburg, DIA-Dittel Architekten creates a unique touristic attraction for the historic trading- and dockyard site. The presentation represents the city’s history from foundation to the beginning of cruise ship building in an inspiring and emotional way. Like the city’s character, the attraction delights the visitors by combining state-of-the-art technology with storytelling, elaborate details and impressive scenography. In the historical 3-story brick building, DIA creates a learning journey for the visitor on roughly 1.000m² that fuses Papenburg’s identity with the building process of wood- and steel ships and transports complex content in an experience-driven concept. Cutting-edge design and high-tech-elements such as Virtual- and Augmented Reality, Immersive Rooms, Gamification and a Papenburg-App go hand in hand and create an adventurous experience that, from end of 2021 on, will not only attract visitors to the “Forum alte Werft” but will also create a cross-linkage through the entire city.

City hall Mannheim

After passing twelve construction stages, the renovation of the fire protection infrastructure comes to an end. On 15,000 square meters, the historic building has been completely redeveloped. A modern foyer has been created. and completes the reconstruction measures due to a contrasting spatial concept.

Digital showcase Thuringia

Only a few more months before the “German Federal Garden Show 2021” begins and the preparations are in full swing. Very soon, we can provide an insight into first teasers about the identity of Thuringia, represented by the three diverse worlds “Nature”, “Local Color”, and “Cultural history”. Through a specific selection of material, color and shape, the particular world can be experienced with all senses. Production and programming are in the making while we currently are working on all the final details regarding the digital exhibition concept. Texts, videos, and graphics will be employed at digital stations and touchscreens that involve the visitors in an interactive way. An extraordinary experience is waiting for you. Do not miss it!
