Holistic concepts for a vibrant future.
As well as helping to shape the look of modern cities, our architecture creates living, breathing places for people to come together. Our innovative, timeless concepts aim to inspire people, focusing on flexible, user-friendly and cost-effective solutions that combine timeless design and functionality. For us, architecture is sustainable when it is ecologically responsible and when it can also be used by generations to come.
The importance of good architecture
- Building for people: Buildings must adapt to life. We develop and shape adaptable spaces for today’s society – and for tomorrow’s.
- Clear, well thought-out design: Good architecture comes from dialogue. We ask ground-breaking questions and listen to the answers. We take note of needs and translate them into clear, intuitive spaces.
- Holistic planning: We see the inside and outside of buildings as a harmonious whole, an interplay that conveys a clear sense of identity. Accessibility, transparency, visual axes and lighting design are all key parameters here.
- Context-related design: We see architecture as part of an urban planning, historical and social fabric. With this context in mind, we create those ‘third places’ that are of such great importance for our society.
- Sustainability in every facet: In order to maximise the useful life of our buildings, we work with long-lasting materials, flexible design and energy-efficient concepts.
Dittel Architekten are revitalizing a historic industrial building through renovation and adaptive reuse, transforming it into a cultural center. In addition to the existing structures, a new building serves as a central connecting element and welcoming foyer. In April 2024, the site was officially opened as the “Hahnekiez Complex.”
With the maritime experience world, Dittel Architekten designed and realized a unique tourist attraction in the heart of the city of Papenburg. The interactive exhibition explores the city’s history as a trading and shipbuilding location — from its founding to the beginning of cruise ship construction — and brings it to life in an exciting and emotionally engaging way.
